To counter this changes inside our body we can take certain precautions in our diet which can lower the impact of these changes. By countering these chemical changes a person can control the stress he or she is feeling.

  • Increase complex carbohydrates in your food. Complex Carbs which take longer to digest cause the brain to make more serotonin which is a calming chemical.
  • Oranges – Oranges are a natural source of vitamin C which boosts your immune system. This also helps in lowering the stress hormones along with blood pressure.
  • Eat raw vegetables – Eating raw vegetables cuts down stress as it calms the brain. Raw vegetables take more time to chew and cut, which relieves tension.
  • Milk and Milk products – Skim or low fat milk helps release anxiety and mood swings.
